POP UP SHOP / "Object Memories" by STUDIOMAMA
23 JANUARY, 2025
We are pleased to announce the launch of STUDIOMAMA's POP UP SHOP 'Object Memories' in our showroom.
STUDIOMAMA is a London-based design studio founded by designers Nina Tolstrup and Jack Mama, who work in a wide range of fields such as space, furniture and objects with a sense of figurative playfulness.
This POP UP SHOP will be themed around one of their artworks, Object Memories.
The philosophy behind STUDIOMAMA's artwork Object Memories includes the idea of excavating the memories and stories hidden in everyday life and rethinking the new relationship between people and objects, and their design thinking, which places importance on rediscovering the value and stories of objects through design. It is also the very essence of their design thinking, which emphasises rediscovering the value and stories of objects through design.
This is because we believe that objects go beyond mere function and form to nurture people's memories and emotions, as well as their connection to society and culture, a thought we deeply sympathise with and have chosen as the theme for this POP UP SHOP.
During the exhibition, the two STUDIOMAMA members will display unique items they have collected in their daily lives, as well as 'Off-Cut Creatures' and 'Nose Hook' made from scrap wood and'Face Casting', a sculptural bookend inspired by Bruno Munari's work 'Guardiamoci negli occhi'.
The exhibition will also accept orders for items from The Pallet Project, the 2006 project that led to the creation of 'Off-Cut Creatures'.
Through this POP UP SHOP, we invite you to discover the world of STUDIOMAMA, which questions the importance of rethinking the relationship between objects and people, based on the memories and stories of objects that have been loved for many years.
